I write
Poems.
Songs take Talent,
Books take Time,
Films take Money.
Sculptures don’t rhyme.
Plays bore me,
Dance puzzles me,
I can’t draw straight lines.
It’s all just... not mine.
I write poems
Because I need to speak;
But my tongue will just tremble,
My knees will go weak.
But just for a minute,
A piece of your time,
I might douse you with lyrics
And light you with rhyme -
Tap rhythm on fingers that do seldom else,
‘Cause “poetry’s easy,”
I say to myself.
‘Cause anything I can do can’t take that much,
But you’re the one reading this,
why would you judge?
I write poems
