Samuel Westrop

Candidate profiles from YUSU Elections 2010

Westrop believes the position of NUS delegate should be filled by someone who has “the interests of York at heart”. Westrop, a strong advocate of liberty and democracy on campus, says he has a “faithful admiration for the democratic process.”

While he concedes that “the future of education is looking increasingly uncertain”, Westrop sees the provision of affordable learning as “imperative for the success and prosperity of the entire country.”

One of Westrop’s key aims is to ensure that the voice of York students is heard “loudly and clearly.”
