The York ski team won hands-down in Sheffield this Friday.

York beat Lancaster four races to one in a series of untimed relay-style head-to-head slaloms, lead by Ben Corby, whose team consisted of himself, Max Hardy, Katie Huckle and Tim Barton,

Hardy and Corby deserve special praise for demonstrating devastating alacrity and speed on the tough dry-slope terrain, and for both blitzing their respective opposition.

The Lancaster captain, Jonny Masters, and his teammate Matt Wilkinson provided tough opposition, but the York team pulled decisively ahead.

Corby declared that the team had given “their best performance all season” and that he was “extremely proud to be the race captain”.

He called York’s performance his team’s “the ultimate success”.
