Line-up for Summer Ball 2016 revealed

Three big names as well as established university acts announced for one of YUSU’s biggest events

SummerBallLineupTimelinePhoto This years Summer Ball will be headlined by singer-songwriter, rapper and producer Elliot Gleave, otherwise known as Example.

The man behind hits ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’, ‘Kickstarts’ and ‘Kids Again’, Example will head up the music stage at York Racecourse on 7th June. He’ll be joined by DJ Wire, his regular touring partner.

BBC Sound of 2015 shortlisters Blossoms will also play Summer Ball. Blossoms are a group of teenage rockers from Manchester who have been hotly tipped for the year ahead, and have already gained traction and radio play with single ‘Getaway’. Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe and Radio 1 new music resident Huw Stephens are fans of the band.

Hip-hop artist and DJ Jaguar Skills completes the main line-up – the mind behing ‘Lust’ and ‘Steel Riddim’ is something of a mystery, with details of his real name, age and home town remaining unknown.

Local names and Summer Ball favourites Donkey Zoo will also appear, as will Black Box, host of popular club nights.
