As campaigning opens, Nouse can reveal the full list of candidates for all Full and Part Time Officer positions in 2016’s YUSU Elections.

This year there are seven people contesting the position of YUSU President, including the current YUSU Women’s Officer Ananna Zaman, Habib Nassar, the President of Palestinian Solidarity Society, former Vice Chairman of York Tories Oliver Wilson, and Nouse’s own Comment Editor Ciarán Morrissey.

The position of Activities Officer will be a six way contest. The role of Community and Wellbeing Officer will be a three person race between Alcuin Chair Dom Smithies, current LGBTQ Officer Jack Chadwick, and former Secretary of Fetsoc Rosario Neyra.

Thomas Ron re-stands for his current position as Academic Officer, challenged by Tamaki Laycock and Lisseth Inza Flores. York Sport President is contested by five, including the Presidents of the University’s Boxing and American Football Clubs.

More information, including interviews with the candidates and Candidate Profiles, can be found on Nouse’s Elections mini-site. The full list of candidates can be read below.
