York’s literary scene ascended to the Norman Rea Gallery last Saturday to celebrate the launch of Volume Six of The Looking Glass Anthology, a collection of poetry and prose written by students at the University.

The evening featured readings by contributing students James Carr, Richard Stranks, Jack Tindle and Laura Potts. Musical entertainment was provided by Rachel Mullen Lipman and Jack Tindle, and the night was closed by local talent Gobbledigook.

“The launch party was a great way to kick off the new academic year and reunite all the writers and editors within the society,” said Editor-in-Chief Isabelle Scott. “The poetry readings were fantastic, ranging from dark to funny to quiet and poignant, a brilliant showcase of the anthology. I’d like to thank all our readers, musical performers, and URY for their sound engineering. It was a perfect way to celebrate the literary talent on campus and sell our latest books.”
