The Big Top line-up has been announced by YUSU with singer-songwriter Ella Eyre topping the bill.

The MOBO award winner has collaborated on tracks with the likes of DJ Fresh and Rudimental, co-wrote the number-one single ‘Changing’ by Sigma featuring Paloma Faith and is the voice behind the Official England Rugby World Cup song.

Other acts performing at the event include alternative-rock band Nothing but Thieves, The Carnabys, DJ PBH, York band Donkey Zoo and Doxis.

The event, that is to take place on the Heslington East campus, will be the penultimate event of Freshers’ week. There will be circus performers, funfair stalls, a silent disco, a photo booth, circus skills workshops and a firework display.

Last year’s equivalent Heslington East event Live and Loud included appearances from DJ Fresh, Peace, Kristian Nairn (Hodor from Game of Thrones), Duke, The Struts and DJ PBH.

The following night will be the YUSU Comedy night with Sean Walsh, Mark Simmons, Jenny Collier and Liam Pickford performing.

The Big Top is to take place on Saturday 3 October and the Comedy Night on Sunday 4 October. Tickets to both events can be found on the YUSU website here.
