Katherine Mellor and Ananna Zaman
What is your role?
“Women’s Network is a group designed to advocate for all women and non-binary students on campus, through dialogue and activism. At our meetings we invite those students to talk about the issues affecting them on campus and how best we can tackle them whether that be through activism or signposting to welfare, mental health and sexual health services.
“We operate as a community based on the values of equality and respect and our meetings are intended to be safe spaces for people to speak honestly and openly in ways that we believe everyday misogyny and patriarchy make difficult.”
What is the best part of your job?
“The best part of the job is definitely the meetings, where we’ve made some incredible friends, and the satisfied feeling when the committee pulls off a big fundraiser like FemFest or One Billion Rising!”
