Roses 2015

The University of York have won Roses 2015, beating Lancaster University to reclaim the Carter James trophy. York reached the quota of 185 points first, passing the quota when they won the Men’s 10km Running.

York will be presented with the trophy at the closing ceremony which follows the final fixture of the weekend, the Men’s Rugby Union Firsts.

This year’s tournament saw Boxing featured for the first time as the opening night. Central Hall hosted ‘Fight Night’ which saw the one point on offer shared between York and Lancaster. England manager Roy Hodgson officially opened the tournament shortly afterwards.

Match reports from across the weekend will be up online at nouse.co.uk/sport from Tuesday onwards.
