A 22-year-old man has been arrested following an incident on Monday which saw a 21-year-old Archaeology student from the University of York punched in the face three times.

The woman was approached by the man in the early hours of Monday morning whilst walking near Lawrence Street. She has since received treatment in York Hospital, and is not seriously injured.
