The Killers – Christmas In LA (feat. Dawes)

One of the best-known bands in the world have a little-known tradition: each year the Killers release a Christmas-themed song. These have yet to achieve renown, but the band has come up trumps this year. The song is about an aspiring actor who remains in LA over the Christmas period so that he can do auditions (although do they really have these right near Christmas?). Other than this unconvincing plot twist, the song is great. Flowers’ distinctive voice which made the Killers the band they are today pervades the song with a fantastic narrative. The music video features Owen Wilson in another mildly intellectual turn (a la Midnight In Paris) and 100% of the song’s proceeds go towards World AIDS Day, so if you enjoy it, then it’s really worth buying it.
