Luke Malkin

Candidate profiles from YUSU Elections 2010

Luke Malkin is centering his campaign around his ‘Lucky 7′ policies which aim to put student societies at the forefront of YUSU issues.

He has much experience with organisation and responsibility; he organised York Come Dancing this year as Dancesport President, and has experience with RAG as Ents Rep.

His policies include increasing and improving societies’ storage space, and also gaining more space for societies to use; if elected he hopes to open the Dixon Studio in Wentworth for society use.

Malkin is keen to promote student awareness of events and activities, and wants to rebrand student activity advertising on campus using the mascot, Lucky the Duck, to increase student knowledge of activities and events. He also has plans to help students running various societies on campus by launching a YUSU guide to running societies, and hopes to produce an anthology of student volunteering experience. He wants to untangle to UltraVires Charity laws to aid student understanding of fundraising.
