Elanin Vince, one of YUSU’s current part-time LGBT Officers, will focus her campaign on representation. If elected as Academic Affairs Officer, Vince wishes to take solid results from the University and “strengthen our mandate in calling for changes in University policy, structure and process.”
Vince wants to accelerate the rate of feedback and its utility; improve assessment methods; and strengthen the current supervisory system, including its accommodation of a variety of learning methods. She also wishes to focus on giving Course Representatives a strong voice and training to “win the arguments at a departmental level”.
Vince also emphasises that her experience as a YUSU officer, with a professional administrative background, will help in representing students to academic Boards and “senior committees in the University”. She has stated her recognition in the growth of Academic Affairs, and the need for change “at the most basic levels” to achieve academic success.
