Fusion President Cesca Dessain has announced that this yearâs show will be larger and include more students than ever before. She has also hinted at a âsecret and excitingâ new theme that the Fusion committee are planning to keep under wraps for as long as possible.
The annual event, featuring fashion, dance and music, has secured a ÂŁ2,000 sponsorship grant from KPMG, and is collaborating with high profile designers as well as hoping to raise the profile of the live music featured within the show.
The Fusion committee has stated that more of the student body will be engaged as part of the show than ever before, with students needed in every area of production. âI am so excited about this yearâs show,â commented Dessain. âWeâve got big shoes to fill, but big ideas of our own that will hopefully make for the best performance to date.â
She also added: âThe thing about Fusion is that it relies so much on the help and enthusiasm of the student body. Itâs down to excitement and commitment that we are able to do what we do. Without all the talented people out there, the show would not go on.â
Last yearâs event saw record numbers in attendance and raised ÂŁ13,000 for its various charity beneficiaries.
Despite restrictions on fundraising due to a YUSU change in policy to reflect charities laws, Dessain stated that Fusion and itsâ committee were âdetermined to stand by RAGâ, including them at every stage of production.
