As darkness falls over the last production night of the year, the changes are already strikingly apparent. Columns reluctantly relinquished by departed writers, back-editions gathered up for future nostalgia. As a year of students face the very real prospect of post-university life, Nouse sincerely wishes all those graduating the best of luck for their bright, shining futures.
To Raf Sanchez, an incredible Editor whose guiding hand shaped the current editorial team, giving them the confidence and self-belief to follow in his giant footsteps. In your absence, the office keyboards are decidedly cleaner. To Nicky Woolf, our favourite satirist, Muse Editor and lay-up supremo who patiently initiated so many of us into wonders of Quark, and Sunday night vodka-cokes. And to Anjli Raval, a Deputy Editor who steadied the ship and looked after us all, and a future legend of the pink pages.
To Venetia, features, fashion and travel-writer extraordinaire whose style(s!) inspired us all. Lily, columnist, commentator and features writer who shone in everything she wrote. Noice and Jeynes, the double act that never really took off. To you we owe so many Photoshopped images, and so many great acts of Facebook rape. To Dan, Nouse’s hottest specimen and stalwart of the Sports team. To Jenny, who brought expertise to every position she held, and to Will, whose columns we read so eagerly. To James, whose recipes inspired us all, to Helen who always wore a smile, and to Sarah, for marshalling the proofing troops at 2am and bringing cake.
And to Chris Northwood, who deserves far more than just his own paragraph. A man whose dedication knows no bounds, and whose creativity single-handedly carried our website into exciting and uncharted territory.
You all leave behind a legacy to which we are indebted. Go forth.
