Campus’ response to EGM announcement

As discontent grows about the decision to move the Summer Ball to campus from its traditional Racecourse venue, YSTV and Nouse interview those petitioning against the move decided in Union Council yesterday.

Following a 700-strong Facebook group opposing the plan and an online petition, YUSU have called an EGM (Emergency General Meeting) to take place tomorrow at 14.15 in LN028, with voting open online from 18.00 for 24 hours.

“I think it should be on campus because… it’s easier to get to”

Yes Gradball is really all about convenience… My old housemates started getting ready for their Graduation Ball at 7am for heaven’s sake – convenience, cheap drinks, these things have nothing to do with to what some is a once in a lifetime event!

Campus is bigger than the racecourse… by quite a lot…

I think it is slightly biased that the people hosting the group against the motion were interviewed, but no one that was for the motion seemed to be featured. (although I understand people may have been busy and/or not willing, it is just an observation)

“An emergency general meeting has been called.”

No it hasn’t. An extraordinary general meeting has been called.

    Pretty poor, Nouse and YSTV.
