Funeral of Ben Martin to take place this Wednesday
The funeral of Ben Martin, a third-year history student from Alcuin College, who passed away over the Christmas break, will take place on Wednesday 14th January (Week 1) at 3.00pm in the West Chapel of Golders Green Crematorium. A memorial will be held afterwards in Kenwood House Old Kitchen.
York students wishing to travel to the service have been asked to contact Alcuin College Administrator Sheila Ashton on sa13@york.ac.uk by 3:30pm on Tuesday for buses to be scheduled. Letters and notes of condolences may be placed in the box in Alcuin Porters Lodge.
Ben’s family have requested that donations be made to the Karuna Trust instead of flowers. Envelopes should be delivered to Sheila Ashton in person or to the Alcuin Porters clearly marked “for the attention of Sheila Ashton”. Donations may be in cash form or a cheque made payable to “Karuna Trust”.
Anyone who feels they have been adversely affected academically by this sad news should contact their academic department for advice.
