Grace Fletcher-Hackwood may have departed from her post at the SU, but the game is not over yet. The SU is now without an Academic and Welfare officer, vital in matters where students are at odds with both academic and administrative staff; for instance in cases where a complaint against an academic member of staff, especially a senior one, has been made. In such cases supervisors are often too closely wedded to their colleagues to be able to effectively address such irregularities.
Students are now all poorer, but especially those who may find themselves before the end of the year having to raise academic matters or defend themselves on such matters that official university channels of department and administration are unable to help them to resolve satisfactorily. That game, being ongoing, is not yet over.
