Give the talent some support
The recent convincing triumph in the annual Varsity tournament proves what has been said in this paper before - that the potential is there for York to be a successful sporting university. All that needs to happen now is for the University itself to sit up and take notice, to provide the sportsmen and women with the support they need, both in terms of funding and with improved facilities. Convincing victories in the Volleyball, Tennis and Skiing show that York are flourishing in the smaller participation sports, and that is where York can make an impact on university-level sport.
