We will thrash them
As Jo Carter is unwilling to go any further than being ‘confident of victory’, I guess I will have to be the one to stick my neck on the line – we will thrash them. I don’t even think my prediction will jinx us, there is nothing short of a freak natural disaster that will stop the University of York from beating York St John today.Right, now that my intelligent and informed prediction is out of the way, we can move on. With a couple of early fixtures already completed, the score is depressingly level. I honestly thought the Women’s Basketball team would win. The fact that they only found out they were playing that morning isn’t much of an excuse, and they will be hoping to up their game today in the BUSA Knockout Plate.Fortunately, the Women’s Hockey continued their exceptional season with another win, and my overly arrogant prediction is back on track. So now the big day is upon us, and I find myself irresistibly drawn to the dodgeball match in the tent at 4pm. That is surely the highlight of the day, even though it doesn’t count points-wise. Another highlight will be the 6-a-side cricket in the Main Hall, which just sounds so rubbish that its probably going to be amazing. So drag yourself down to the Sports Hall or the 22 acres and watch us wipe the floor with YSJ (actually, maybe I am a bit overconfident) and if not then watch our full day coverage online. My predicted score? York to win by 20.
