Hitch to Morocco fails ratification tests

This yearâ€™s Hitch to Morocco will not take place with the backing of YUSU after it was deemed too great a risk to Union liability. The decision was made after YUSU Communications and Societies Officer Sam Bayley described the Hitchâ€™s destination as â€śtoo much of a riskâ€ť, and it was revealed that the Unionâ€™s insurance does not cover the kind of risks undertaken by participants. Despite the decision, YUSU continues to support the initiative, providing them with free advertising and use of university rooms. â€śWe donâ€™t have any problem with their aims and objectives,â€ť said Bayley, â€śand theyâ€™re working for a worthy cause.â€ť
