Correction: Are we a racist university?

In ‘Are we are racist university?‘ (Tues May 8th 2007) we wrongly quoted Richard Byrne-Smith as calling for ’students who claim visas on the basis of their place at York’ to be ‘thoroughly scrutinised before they are offered a place to study’. This was in fact part of York Vision’s editorial column, featured on the same page of the newspaper.

First you’re misquoting; now you’re mis-spelling “Richard Bryne Smith”

    It’s “Byrne”

You cleary never check your copy before you publish it… not for accuracy; not for spelling; and least of all for sophistry.

    You’re FIRED!

obviously, it should have been “clearly”, but I’ve got an excuse - I’m officially dyslexic!

Thanks for the heads up about the spelling mistake, but wouldn’t a simple ‘you spelt his name wrong’ do?! and you’re right, I don’t check nouse for accuracy or spelling: it’s not my job. If you think you can do it better we’re looking for a web deputy at the moment. Be my guest.

Rinky Stingpiece: to miss spell ‘clearly’ as ‘cleary’ has nothing to do with being dyslexic, its a typo, live with it!
