After a very long delay (due to various problems with the pool table), the women’s pool finally kicked off.
The first two frames were dispiriting, with close finishes leaving Lancaster 2 points up. Laura Dalton was the first one to claim a victory for York, although this was followed by a Lancaster victory after a tense game.
Despite low morale, and much premature excitement amongst the Lancaster team, York fought back admirably, and secured another 3 points in a row. The eighth frame was won by Lancaster, leaving the final game as a tie-breaker.
Spirits were running high as all eyes fell on the final two players from Lancaster and York, Amanda Walton and Amy Levick respectively. Levick played incredibly well under such pressure, and secured the competition for York after a nail-biting match.
