York Ultimate Frisbee were narrowly beaten by a forceful Lancaster side this Friday.
Lancaster began the game aggressively, taking several points early in the first half.
York regrouped and pushed back, but were still trailing 8-7 at the end of the first half.
The second half was hard-fought, and at the end of normal time Lancaster were ahead but unable to get the two clear points needed for a victory.
The game went into extra time, ending with at 14-12 Lancaster win.
Alex Fenton played a strong defensive game while York’s captain, Louis Sebastian, showed excellent handling in his last game on home turf.
York’s game was undermined by errors in handling and possibly by the knowledge that their weekend of competition was only beginning as they head for the Nationals.
