York’s Women’s team went down in both games today in the Rugby Union 7s, completing a disappointing day for the Rugby club.

In the 2nds game, the team got off to a good start, with Allison Crittenden putting in some strong tackles and Caz Davies distributing well. However, Lancaster’s side were more keen on spreading the ball wide, winning the second’s game 10-0.

In the 1sts, York kept alternating the pressure, with both sides coming close to score often. York hammered at Lancaster’s line again and again, but good tackling, speed and skill in making the best of York’s handling mistakes gave them the victory at 31-0.
