Student media success

Nouse finally made a name for itself in student journalism last weekend, after picking up the top prize from the Daily Mirror and NUS student media awards.

The paper was presented with the Student Newspaper of the Year award, after being shortlisted from over 750 student papers across the country.

Presenting the award, David Seymour the Chief Political Editor of the Daily Mirror, said Nouse was “a paper that stood out from all the others, with understated design and good, strong content”.

Nouse also came runner-up to Cardiff University’s paper, Gair Rhydd, in the Guardian Newspaper of the Year award, and was singled out for its “original and strong features.”

November 2005, shortly before this story was posted (all stories have the date they were posted under the headline). For an article on this year’s awards, see: http://www.nouse.co.uk/2006/11/28/york-media-success/
