SU President Destitute

The history books are packed with occurrences of great leaders being poorly treated by ungrateful subjects. Churchill only managed a couple of months in Downing Street after winning the war before he was kicked out by the labour-loving British electorate. And what thanks did Saddam Hussein get for his years of public service?

There are probably other examples.

But who would have thought that the good students of York could be party to cruelty such as this? And yet after leading the SU for a full year, with a record almost entirely devoid of incompetence, our once glorious leader James Alexander has been forced to spend the summer sleeping on the floors of the charitable and relying on his old friend Papa John for sustenance. For shame York University, for shame.

In fairness, James could be said to have brought this fate upon himself, having entirely failed to get a proper job since graduation. He plans instead on becoming a local councillor, and then, presumably, an MP, a minister and, finally, King. I’m sure we wish him all the best in his climb up the greasy pole. If you have any food or warm clothing you’d like to donate to James to see him through the harsh winter, leave it in a clearly marked sack outside the Nouse offices. (Soiled goods preferred.)
