What many see as the most boring non-sab role, Training Officer, was won uncontested by Alcuin vice-chair Steve Harding. Having held the post for the past year with two others, going alone this time "to try and build on the system we developed last year". Like last year, he wants to try and get SU training accredited by the University, believing that the skills taught are "far more relevant than schemes like the York Award – we teach people skills they actually need to know”. Other key policies include the complete centralisation of training to include affiliates such as RAG and the Athletic Union.
